GES4SEAS Toolbox Version 0.8 Released
The GES4SEAS project reaches a pivotal milestone, as we are ready to release the version (0.8) of the “GES4SEAS toolbox”. This release, building upon last year’s prototype, represents a significant step towards the initial full version 1.0, which is anticipated in the upcoming weeks.
The current version 0.8, is primarily focused on testing the import of spatial raster datasets. It already supports some of file formats, in line with the specifications detailed in the WP5 management plan.
At this stage, we are requesting our test groups to focus on reporting any issues they encounter with installation, startup, and dataset importing processes. The aesthetic aspects of the app are being refined later, and the features to perform data analysis and assessment will be integrated in the forthcoming version 1.0 with continuous enhancements and supplements in the next months.
The GES4SEAS project has outlined several key steps to further develop and enhance the toolbox. An online meeting is scheduled for early March 2024, where version 1.0 will be presented in more detail. Additionally, a hands-on workshop is planned for April in Bremerhaven, Germany, followed by the GES4SEAS annual meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, in May. These events will offer extensive opportunities for testing, practical application, and discussions about future features and directions for the toolbox.
As we progress, continuous updates and improvements to the toolbox are planned, ensuring it becomes a vital tool for advancing marine ecosystem management and research. Stay tuned for more updates!
