EBV Workflow Templates Published by EuropaBON with GES4SEAS Collaboration

EuropaBON recently hosted an online workshop to develop Essential Biodiversity Variable (EBV) workflow templates, with significant contributions from members of the GES4SEAS project. These templates focus on the components of data collection, integration, and modelling essential for generating EBVs, which are vital for monitoring European biodiversity effectively.

Focusing on the integration of science and policy, the templates are prepared to enhance transparency and foster collaboration across Europe. GES4SEAS is delighted to contribute significantly to the development of the EBV workflow templates, an effort mentioned several times throughout the document, highlighting our role in shaping future developments in marine biodiversity monitoring across the EU.

The collaborative effort brought together over 500 participants from 49 countries, demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing biodiversity monitoring. This initiative not only underscores the practical application of EBVs but also sets a baseline for future developments in biodiversity monitoring across the EU.
