Professor Jacob Carstensen (Aarhus University) gave a keynote speech in Weihai, China on experiences with managing eutrophication.

Professor Jacob Carstensen from Aarhus University (partner of the GES4SEAS project) took the stage at the “Conference for Northeast Asia on Green, Low-Carbon, and High-Quality Marine Development” in Weihai, China that kicked off on August 29 2023. Invited as the keynote speaker, Professor Jacob Carstensen shared invaluable insights and experiences in managing eutrophication in this conference co-hosted by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China Association for Science and Technology and the Provincial Government of Shandong.

The conference aimed to create a platform to build a consensus on the green, low-carbon and high-quality development at home and abroad, which is aligned with GES4SEAS’ mission to promote the well-being of marine ecosystems. Professor Jacob Carstensen’s keynote address centered on the challenges and successes in combatting eutrophication, a critical issue affecting aquatic environments worldwide.
