GES4SEAS Recognised in MSP Recommendations for the Mediterranean

The Community of Practice on Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) in the Mediterranean – a group of experts from EU and non-EU countries working on MSP in the region – has published a new recommendations paper summarising the outcomes of its work during 2023 and 2024.

The report focuses on two key themes – conservation and sustainable blue economy – drawing on a wide range of knowledge and projects, including GES4SEAS. As a GES4SEAS partner, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) actively advocated for the inclusion of the project’s work in this policy-focused document.

GES4SEAS is referenced throughout the report as a valuable project for some of the key challenges, such as conservation through MSP implementation. The inclusion of GES4SEAS in this report reflects the project’s growing impact across marine policy and governance, and the value of its tools, research, and collaborative approach in guiding marine governance in the Mediterranean and beyond.

The full report is now available and can be accessed here.
