New Research Highlight from GES4SEAS and OBAMA-NEXT Collaboration

GES4SEAS is excited to highlight a significant publication in the Environmental Monitoring and Assessment journal, authored by Borja et al. This research, a product of the 2023 AZTI Summer School, marks a significant advancement in marine biodiversity monitoring, involving collaborative efforts from GES4SEAS, OBAMA-NEXT, BIOcean5D, ACT-NOW, and MARBEFES projects

The paper presents a leap in our capacity to understand and assess human impacts on marine ecosystems, integrating novel technologies such as environmental DNA (eDNA), drones, artificial intelligence, and more. These methods enhance our ability to monitor marine biodiversity and offer revolutionary approaches to its management and conservation.

This collaborative research embodies the spirit of innovation and cross-project synergy, providing valuable insights for scientists, policymakers, and marine managers dedicated to the sustainable management of our oceans. For a deeper understanding of these groundbreaking methodologies and their applications, we invite you to explore the full paper.
