Organized by GES4SEAS and FutureMares, this course is designed to provide students and professionals with a thorough understanding of Bayesian Networks in the context of interdisciplinary environmental research.
Led by Dr. Laura Uusitalo and Dr. Riikka Puntila-Dodd, the course will guide you through the essential concepts and practical applications of Bayesian Networks. You’ll learn how to explain their workings, evaluate factors vital for designing interdisciplinary models, and build your own Bayesian Network model using accessible software. This hands-on experience is perfect for those looking to apply these models to their research projects.
The course will be held at the Meeting Center in the Viikki campus in Helsinki, with detailed transport and connection information available here. It starts on Monday at 12 PM and concludes on Friday at 12 PM. For accommodation, you’ll find convenient options in eastern downtown Helsinki, known for its easy access to Viikki. Budget-friendly options are available at Noli Studios in Malmi or Sörnäinen.
We’ve reserved 40 seats for in-person participation, prioritizing members from the GES4SEAS and FutureMares projects, but there’s also room for other Horizon project participants if any slots remain. Online participation is open to all interested parties.
